  • Develop and agree on a work plan;
  • To develop strategies to enable FIRS and SBIR to issue Taxpayer Identification Numbers to all taxable persons in the country;
  • To develop a basis for receiving third party data to facilitate the issuance of the TIN;
  • It will reduce multiple or double taxation;
  • It will improve the ability of tax authorities to share information and thereby improve taxpayers assessment;
  • It will widen and deepen the taxbase;
  • It will provide information for planning, budgeting and statistics
  • TIN will strengthen the capabilities of the various tax authorities (Federal and State) in the areas of collection, compliance and enforcement.;
  • TIN will provide a platform for demonstrating the citizen centric philosophy and implementing citizen relationship management solution especially through the use of Contact Management Centre (CMC);
  • It would be used for Person Identity Verification;
