THE JOINT TAX BOARD HOLDS ITS FIRST EVER STAFF RETREAT

The theme of the event is “Encouraging a Culture of Collaboration, Innovation and Adaptation to Respond 

to Emerging Challenges while Positively Projecting the Image of JTB”.

This historic two-day event was held on Wednesday, 24th April and Thursday, 25th April 2024.

Some of the highlights from the retreat are as follows:

• JTB to prioritize continuous collaboration with relevant agencies for seamless exchange of

information.

• JTB to continue to provide support to the Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee

towards ensuring that it achieves its mandate within the specified timeframe.

• The JTB Secretariat to identify various initiatives that will further assist the Revenue Authorities

in achieving improved revenue generation at the national and sub-national levels.

• JTB to continuously carry out capacity building programs for its staff, as well as personnel of the

sub-national revenue authorities, to enhance operational efficiency and optimize productivity for

improved and sustainable revenue generation and administration in the nation’s tax landscape.

• JTB to continuously leverage data, digital processes, and intelligence to ensure increased taxpayer

visibility and an expanded tax base.
