The JTB Final Inspector of Taxes (FIT) Course commenced on 15th August 2022 at the FIRS Training School, Durumi, FCT with participants drawn from the respective tax authorities spread across the federation. The course is a 10-week training with a robust curriculum which is expected to enhance the knowledge of the tax officers for efficiency and proficiency in tax administration, and service delivery.
The overall impact of the training is to improve the capacity and performance of the participants at work which in turn will shore up the revenue generation of the tax authorities.
During the ten (10) weeks training, the revenue officers will be exposed by the experienced course facilitators which are carefully selected by JTB through the following topics at an advanced level.
1. Advanced International Taxation
2. Advanced Accounting
3. Advanced Communication
4. Tax Policy Analysis
5. Tax Audit & Investigation
6. Taxation of Specialized Sectors
7. Enforcement
The JTB Secretary, Obomeghie Nana-Aisha in her opening remarks encouraged the participants to pay full attention to their studies and to adhere to the rules and regulations for the course. She charged the tax officers to take the training as a lifetime opportunity and that they should eschew any form of malpractices during the entire periods of the FIT course, this she said will justify that they are truly worthy ambassadors of their respective states.
The Secretary appreciate the Executive Chairmen of the States Internal Revenue Service (SIRS) for availing their staff the opportunity to acquire the requisite knowledge that is expedient for their functions as tax officers.
