JTB DEPARTMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Chairman; -Steer the Secretariat towards achieving the strategic mandates of the Joint tax Board and implementation of the Boards decisions.

Secretary: – To oversee the management of the JTB Secretariat activities and ensure proper coordination in providing required support to the Board.

Internal Audit Department: – To ensure adherence and compliance with established regulations and internal control structures existing for JTB; Review and verify all relevant reports/documentation for JTB.

Member Services Department: – To provide services to members of the Board in the areas of capacity building, recommendation of tax management improvement initiatives and coordination of payment of remittances owed to member states.

Admin Department: – To coordinate and manage the operational activities within the secretariat in line with JTB’s strategic objectives; Oversee human resource management for the secretariat

Tax Services Department: – Conduct viable research to improve national tax administration and provision of relevant IGR statistics for decision making.

Legal Department: – Provide legal services on tax laws policies and related matters; Propose amendments to existing tax laws; assist IRS in codification of tax laws opinions and advisory national Assembly Liaison.

Finance Department: – To coordinate all functions related to the management of JTB’s financial resources in line with international standards and local regulations.

Corporate Communications Department: -To manage internal and external stakeholders in order to promote the objectives and goals of JTB; To implement Communication programs that will promote the Corporate goal of the JTB.

Information Communication Technology (ICT) Department: – To ensure the attainment of JTB’s strategic objectives through effective and efficient coordination of the operations of the ICT function.
