JTB organises masterclass on KPI measurement for Directors, Managers

Directors and Managers at the JTB Secretariat attended a One (1) day masterclass on Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Measurement and Performance Appraisal.
The masterclass, which held on Thursday, 21st August 2025, at K-Class Hotel, Abuja, was organised by the Management of the JTB to bring Directors and Managers up to speed with trends in performance management.
The Head of Administration and Human Resources, Mr. Aminu Ya’u said the masterclass is part of a holistic capacity- building package for staff approved by Management as part of the Board’s transition plan to the Joint Revenue Board.
Mr. Ya’u stated that the training was aimed to acquaint and arm top and mid-level management staff of the Secretariat with the necessary tools and metrics required for performance management.
He said, “the intention of Management is to improve the way performance is measured.”
“To achieve this, Management decided to organise the masterclass for Directors and Managers to familiarise them with trends in performance management.”
“Management wants to see improvement in the setting of performance targets through crafting KPIs that are measurable, achievable and that are aligned with the overall goals of the organisation.”
“We also want to ensure clarity, objectivity and fairness in the metrics of appraisal of staff performance outcomes in the service,” Mr. Ya’u added.
The masterclass, facilitated by Conegelics Consulting, delivered presentations on the following topics, “Compliance and Enforcement of KPIs”, “Revenue Collection Efficiency”, “Customer Service Excellence”, and “Risk Management and Audit Effectiveness”.
Other topics were, “Root Cause Analyses Techniques”, “Performance Variance Investigation”, “Standardised Conversation Framework” as well as “Evidence-based Performance Discussions”.
The masterclass was well received, and the staff were fully engaged and took away useful tools that will aid in a structured methodology in the approach to Key Performance Indicators in the various departments and in Performance Management
